The homie Jon Tefic (formerly known as Methotrexate) dropped "Coolin" yesterday. When I spoke with Jon, he mentioned aiming for a new sound. I embrace change. It's growing. And "Coolin" is no exception to that. I feel like it has a Cudi vibe with more rhymes. More substance. And he is just getting started. We are lucky to be working with Jon Tefic on upcoming projects. The latest single "Cloud" produced by North Carolina up and comer J Rodgers off of Japhia Life's critically acclaimed new LP "Westside Pharmacy", with it's minimalistic and menacing 808 littered instrumental sounds like a blast from past 80's era hardcore hip-hop, while still showcasing a progressive sonic soundscape. The reality of Japhia's artistic self conscious shows up in lines like "See I started rapping in 94, Why you think I sound like I'm from the 90's for".
